Oatmeal is healthy and filling breakfast which is a great way to start your day. There are varieties of way to make it tasty, like adding apple, cinnamon, banana, cherries, berries, dry fruits and nuts...the list is endless. Oatmeal has lots of benefits which includes :
- It contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is a good source of protein, complex carbohydrates and iron.
- Over 40 studies shows that eating oatmeal may help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. According to Quaker, all it takes is 3/4 cup of oatmeal each day to help lower cholesterol. The soluble fiber in oats helps remove "bad" cholesterol, while maintaining the good cholesterol that your body needs.
- The fiber and other nutrients found in oatmeal may actually reduce the risk for certain cancers.
There are lots of ways to eat your oatmeal, like making OATMEAL PANCAKE, OATMEAL MUFFIN, OATMEAL COOKIES, OATMEAL SCONES and so on. Just bake them and put in the fridge, grab one or two with tea and you are good to go.
Egg: you can boil, poach or fry to your taste.
- Unless bread or sugary cereals egg keep you feeling full much longer.The protein and fat in eggs helps in sustaining your energy levels, keeping you satisfied for longer and reducing the need for a mid morning snack.
- Eggs assist weight loss, Studies shows that people who eat eggs for breakfast are more likely to lose weight than those who eat bread.
- Eggs are wonderful source of protein.
- Egg isn't going to make your cholesterol bad. While it’s true that eggs do contain a significant amount of cholesterol, the old formula of the cholesterol you eat impacting on your blood cholesterol levels, has been disproved. So there’s no need to worry about eating eggs increasing your risk for heart disease.
Smoothies or Protein Shakes
Smoothies are better ways of getting your daily vitamins. Like me that doesn't like pills, I my vitamins from smoothies. Some benefits of smoothies are:
- A fruit and vegetable smoothie each day will help prevent quite a lot of health problems including possible high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and many more such health problems.
- Because a smoothie will make you feel that much fuller for quite a length of time, therefore you won't have near as much cravings for snacks early in the day.
- Green smoothies are great in helping to provide a healthy body including a lot more energy throughout ones day.
- Smoothies let your skin have the needed hydration therefore leading to a healthier and glowing skin.
A great way to jump-start your metabolism is by drinking protein shake for breakfast. A lot of fruits can be added to protein shakes.
- Liquid whey protein found in whey drinks and whey powder is a very easily and quickly absorbed protein. Protein is very critical to muscles — it forms the basic structure, is a major source of energy when muscles contract and is a major part of enzymes in the muscle.
- You may have also heard that essential amino acids which are found in protein shakes help in building and maintaining most organs and hormones. The protein found in protein drinks and shakes are also necessary for creating hemoglobin and antibodies.
- It also help stabilize and regulate your blood sugar levels too. The best way to start doing that today is with a protein shake for breakfast.
Wheat bread and Healthy spread
For me, a right portion of wheat bread or any bread is 2 slices with any spread of your choice. Wheat bread is great source of fiber and what you put on it matters, as well. Its pointless spreading your toast with butter or jelly because it just adds empty fat and calories.Rather try proteins by adding an egg or some almond or peanut butter. I go for natural peanut butter spread (I prefer homemade that way I know what am spreading).
